Emergency lighting and UPS battery repair
Emergency-light and UPS battery packs: Ni-MH and Ni-Cd built to the original form factor, APC and Eaton swaps.
We build and rebuild batteries for emergency lighting fixtures, UPS power supplies, fire alarm systems, medical devices and security systems. Custom Ni-MH, Ni-Cd and Li-ion battery packs are assembled in any form factor and configuration — when the original pack is no longer available or its dimensions are non-standard, we build one that fits the housing and matches the voltage. Compliance for emergency lighting batteries is critical: exit lights and evacuation signs are legally required to operate during a power outage. The rebuilt pack keeps full compatibility with the original equipment — voltage, capacity, connector type and physical dimensions are matched exactly. We work with APC and Eaton UPS systems, emergency exit lights, fire alarm backup batteries, medical device batteries and solar controller batteries. Diagnostics are performed on the spot. All battery work carries a 6-month warranty.

Emergency lighting battery compliance and replacement requirements
Emergency lighting fixtures — exit lights, evacuation signs and safety luminaires — are a mandatory element of fire safety and occupational health in any public building, office or production facility. Latvian and EU regulations require these fixtures to provide a defined minimum operating time during a power outage — typically one or three hours depending on the building category. When the built-in battery wears out, the fixture falls out of compliance, creating both legal liability and genuine safety risk.
The problem is often that original battery packs are no longer available — the manufacturer has discontinued the specific model or the pack format is too proprietary. SATER solves this by building custom Ni-MH or Ni-Cd packs that precisely match the original configuration — voltage, capacity, connector type and physical form factor. We use only high-quality cells from leading manufacturers, ensuring the rebuilt pack lasts as long as or longer than the original. Regular battery inspection and timely replacement is not just a regulatory requirement but a real safety necessity.
Custom Ni-MH and Li-ion pack assembly for any form factor
Our service centre has been building custom battery packs to order for over 30 years. Our experience spans a wide range of cell chemistries — from Ni-Cd and Ni-MH to modern Li-ion and LiFePO4 technologies. We build each pack to the specification of the customer's equipment: we measure the original pack's dimensions, record voltage and capacity, identify the connector type and cell configuration (series, parallel or combined).
For cell selection we use proven Ni-MH, Ni-Cd and Li-ion cells, testing each one before installation to ensure uniform capacity and internal resistance across the entire pack. Interconnects are made by spot welding or soldering depending on the pack type. The finished battery undergoes full testing — we run a charge-discharge cycle, measure actual capacity and verify thermal behaviour. This approach ensures the customer receives a battery that fully matches or exceeds the original specifications. All work takes place at our workshop — we do not accept or ship batteries by post.
