Power supply and power electronics repair
Power supply, UPS, charging station, VFD and power-module repair in Riga. Component diagnostics for power electronics.
Power-electronics failures often look similar: the device will not start, trips protection immediately, blows a fuse, the power supply whines or the output voltage disappears under load. At the SATER workshop we repair power supplies, UPS and off-grid inverters, variable-frequency drives, charging stations, DC/DC converters, chargers, LED drivers and other power modules that can be safely brought to the workshop. We check input filters, rectifiers, PFC circuits, electrolytic capacitors, MOSFET/IGBT transistors, PWM controllers, optocouplers, shunts, relays, fans, thermistors and protection circuits. If the fault is at component level and the PCB is not completely destroyed, it is often possible to restore the exact assembly instead of replacing the whole unit. If repair is not economical or safe, we say so before starting.
Popular models we repair
- UPS and off-grid inverters
- 12 V / 24 V / 48 V power supplies
- Variable-frequency drives and VFD modules
- EcoFlow, Bluetti and portable power stations
- Battery chargers and charging stations
- DC/DC and AC/DC converters
- LED power supplies and drivers
- Industrial power modules
- PFC, IGBT and MOSFET power stages
- Power sections for fans, pumps and motor controls
Common problems we fix
- Power supply will not start or clicks in protection
- UPS or inverter does not work from the battery
- VFD shows DC bus, overcurrent or drive error
- Charging station will not charge or gives no 230 V output
- Voltage disappears as soon as a load is connected
- Surge damage to varistors, fuses or power transistors
- Heatsink, fan or power module overheats
- LED driver flickers, whines or gives unstable current
Power supplies, UPS units and charging stations
In these assemblies we first check input protection, the rectifier, PFC section, start-up circuit, PWM controller and optocoupler feedback. Many faults begin with dried capacitors, an overheated resistor, a shorted MOSFET or cracked solder around a power part. A load test confirms whether the unit remains stable after repair.
VFDs and power modules
In VFDs and motor controls we check the DC bus, IGBT/MOSFET modules, drivers, current sensing, relays and fans. With overcurrent, DC bus, drive or overload errors, it is important to find not only the failed component but also the cause: load, cooling, moisture or wrong wiring.
