JVC (Japan Victor Company) is a legendary Japanese brand that gave the world the VHS format and set the standard in audio and video equipment for decades. Modern JVC televisions on the European market are manufactured in partnership with major contract producers, and the latest series — LT-VU and LT-VH — offer Android TV or Fire TV platforms with 4K resolution at a competitive price. In Baltic retail JVC holds a steady position as a brand with an excellent price-to-quality ratio. At the SATER service centre, located at Silmaču iela 6 in Riga, we have been repairing JVC televisions for more than three decades — since 1993, when our workshop began operating in the former workshop No. 2 of the Elektrons factory. Today we service every JVC Android TV model, including the LT-43VU6905, LT-50VU6905 and LT-55VU6905 4K sets, the JVC LT-32VH5905 HD television and JVC Fire TV Edition models. Our engineers carry out component-level diagnostics — from Android TV firmware recovery and eMMC reprogramming to power-board and LED-backlight repair with professional test equipment. Every repair carries a 3-month warranty on the work performed and the parts installed. Our 186 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.3 stars confirm that JVC and other brand owners in Riga have trusted us for decades.

JVC Android TV main board and firmware repair
The JVC Android TV series — LT-43VU6905, LT-50VU6905 and LT-55VU6905 — run on the Android TV platform, which provides a wide selection of apps and Google Assistant integration but also makes the television dependent on firmware stability. The most common symptom we see when a JVC Android TV arrives at our service centre is a boot loop: the set powers on, displays the JVC or Android logo and then restarts from the beginning, never reaching the home screen. The cause is usually eMMC memory corruption — a failed OTA update, a power cut during the update process or simple wear on the eMMC chip.
SATER engineers start by attempting to recover the firmware through the service USB recovery mode — if the bootloader is still functional, this lets us write a clean Android TV image without any hardware intervention. If USB recovery fails, we work directly with the eMMC chip — connecting via ISP or desoldering the chip, reflashing with a programmer and soldering it back. Alongside the firmware work we always check the supply rails on the main board — an unstable voltage or a missing rail can produce exactly the same symptoms as a software fault. We also test the RAM chips and the clock oscillator to confirm that the problem really is in firmware rather than hardware.
Bluetooth remote pairing issues are the second most common JVC Android TV symptom. Often the cause is not the remote but the Bluetooth module on the TV or its antenna connection. We test the Bluetooth module on the main board, ensure stable power and a correct antenna contact, and then run the pairing procedure afresh. If the module is irreparably damaged, we replace it.
JVC LED backlight and power supply repair
LED backlight failure is one of the most common physical faults in JVC televisions — both in the 4K VU series and in the more compact VH models. The symptom is standard: the TV turns on, sound is present, but the screen is completely dark. A bright flashlight aimed at the screen at an angle reveals a very faint image — confirming that the panel and the main board are working while the backlight has failed. SATER engineers open the panel, carefully remove the optical films and test each LED strip on a regulated current source. We replace the full set of strips — not just the ones with dead LEDs, because the rest have been running in compensation mode and their lifespan is nearly exhausted.
Power-board problems on JVC televisions manifest as a complete failure to turn on (standby LED does not light), a momentary start followed by immediate shutdown (the protection circuit detects an overload) or unstable operation — the TV switches off after a random interval. The most common cause is ageing electrolytic capacitors on the secondary side of the power board — capacitance drops while ESR rises, causing voltage instability. We check every capacitor with an ESR meter, replace them with industrial-quality 105 °C components and measure every output rail on an oscilloscope. If the fault is on the primary side we test the power MOSFETs, the PFC controller and the bridge rectifier. After the repair the television is tested for at least one hour continuously to verify long-term stability.
