iRobot error code guide

iRobot Roomba error codes help us pinpoint the fault quickly. Error 1 and Error 2 usually indicate a main-brush problem — either the brush is tangled with hair or it is not seated properly. Error 6 points to dirty cliff sensors, Error 9 to a stuck bumper. On older 600/700 series the codes are signalled with beeps and LED patterns, while the i- and j-series announce them by voice and surface them in the iRobot Home app.

On the newest j- and Combo j-series we frequently see Error 14 (missing bin or filter) and Charging Error 1–9, which point to battery-contact, power-board or battery cell faults. During the on-site diagnostic we check every iRobot-specific code and separate genuine electronic failures from the mechanical issues that a careful clean alone can sometimes resolve.

What SATER repairs on iRobot

Our iRobot repair scope covers the entire machine — from component-level mainboard diagnostics and rework to mechanics and sensors. We repair LDS and camera navigation modules on i- and j-series, main-brush motors and gearboxes, side-brush assemblies, wheel encoders, dock-station contacts and on-board cameras, plus water pumps on Combo models.

For battery rebuilding we use SONY, MOLICEL, SAMSUNG and PANASONIC lithium cells — we assemble extended-capacity packs with a fresh BMS where needed. Battery replacements carry a 6-month warranty; the rest of the repair is covered by our 3-month warranty. We can also order original iRobot batteries and spare parts directly from the distributor if the customer specifically wants factory components.
