Gorenje & Asko Oven, Cooktop and Microwave Repair

Gorenje and Asko: OptiBake NTC sensors, induction IGBT with E3/E4 faults, door microswitches, convection fan motors.

3-month warranty

Gorenje OptiBake ovens and IS/IT-series induction cooktops share a recurring set of faults: the NTC temperature sensor drifts and triggers E2 or E3 errors, the induction power module blows an IGBT transistor with E3/E4 codes, the BM-series microwave door microswitch sticks open, and the convection fan bearings start clattering after years at high oven temperatures. After Hisense bought Gorenje in 2018, the control electronics increasingly share components with Hisense, so spare parts inside the Gorenje/Asko group are often cross-compatible.

Diagnostics cover every heating element with a multimeter, a thermal-camera check of heat distribution, and discrete testing of IGBT transistors, driver circuits and resonance capacitors on induction boards. An unresponsive touch panel is usually caused by moisture ingress beneath the glass — we clean the contacts or replace the control module outright. We agree the estimate before starting work; completed repairs carry a 3-month warranty.

Popular models we repair

  • Gorenje OptiBake BOS6737 oven
  • Gorenje IS induction cooktop
  • Gorenje BM series microwave
  • Asko OP8676 built-in oven
  • Gorenje Simplicity series
  • Gorenje Advanced series

Common problems we fix

  • Oven temperature sensor (NTC) failure — incorrect temperature or error code
  • Induction cooktop error codes (E, Er) — zone switches off or will not start
  • Microwave door switch (micro-switch) failure
  • Oven fan motor noise or complete stop
  • Touch panel not responding to input
  • Heating element uneven heating — food bakes on one side only
  • Pyrolytic cleaning cycle failure — process incomplete or will not start
  • Oven light bulb holder melted due to heat

Gorenje OptiBake oven diagnostics and heating element repair

Gorenje OptiBake series ovens are equipped with multiple heating elements — upper, lower, ring (convection) and grill. Each can fail independently, causing uneven baking or a total loss of heating in a particular mode. Our technicians use a multimeter to check the resistance of each element and a thermal camera to evaluate heat distribution during operation. The faulty element is replaced with a new original or compatible part.

The temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) is a critical component that ensures accurate temperature regulation. If the sensor fails, the oven may overshoot or undershoot the set temperature. Gorenje ovens frequently display error codes E2 or E3, which point directly to sensor failure. We replace the sensor and calibrate the system for precise temperature control. The door seal gasket hardens and loses elasticity over time, causing heat loss — we replace it too if the diagnostic reveals a mismatch.

Gorenje induction cooktop power module and control board repair

Gorenje induction cooktops use high-frequency current generators whose primary power components are IGBT transistors and resonance capacitors. These parts operate under extreme conditions — high frequency and temperature — and can fail over time, especially when exposed to mains voltage surges. The most common Gorenje induction error codes are E1 (overheating), E3 (voltage error), E4 (power module failure) and E9 (inter-zone communication error).

Our engineers diagnose each heating zone individually, testing IGBT transistors, driver circuits, resonance capacitors and the induction coil. Failed components are replaced with new ones of matching specifications. The touch control panel is another frequent failure point — moisture ingress or mechanical damage can cause unresponsiveness or incorrect signal reading. We clean and restore contacts or replace the entire control module. All repairs carry a 3-month warranty.
