Whirlpool & Bauknecht Oven, Cooktop and Microwave Repair

Whirlpool and Bauknecht: AKZM oven heating elements, ACM/SMP induction IGBT modules, MWP/JT microwave magnetrons and F-code diagnostics. 3-month warranty.

3-month warranty

The Whirlpool group covers several brands — Whirlpool, Bauknecht, Indesit and Hotpoint-Ariston — and their built-in kitchen appliances develop a familiar pattern of faults: AKZM ovens lose the upper or lower heating element, ACM and SMP induction hobs drop IGBT power transistors or resonance capacitors, AKM ceramic hobs damage the touch panel membrane switches after liquid ingress, MWP and JT microwaves wear out the magnetron and high-voltage diode. Large appliances are outside our scope — please contact a specialised service for those.

In our service centre we read F-codes (F2 overheat protection, F3 temperature sensor failure, F5 door lock), check element resistance with a bridge meter, measure the IGBT base-emitter and collector junctions, repair control boards at component level and replace hinges, door seals and thermostats. The high-voltage stage of a microwave is a hazardous circuit and is handled only by a qualified technician. All repairs carry a 3-month warranty.

Popular models we repair

  • Whirlpool W7 OM4 built-in oven
  • Whirlpool W6 OM4 built-in oven
  • Whirlpool WL induction cooktop
  • Bauknecht BAR2S K8 V2 IN oven
  • Whirlpool MWP 3391 SB microwave
  • Bauknecht EMCHE 8145 microwave

Common problems we fix

  • Oven heating element burnout — oven does not reach the set temperature
  • Induction cooktop IGBT transistor failure — zone not working or cutting out
  • Touch control panel malfunction caused by moisture ingress
  • Oven door hinge broken — door does not close tightly
  • Microwave magnetron failure — food does not heat
  • Fan motor burnout — noise or complete stop
  • Thermostat failure — incorrect temperature regulation
  • Error code display (F codes)

Detailed problem guides

Pick a symptom — we walk through the causes, what you can check yourself, and when to bring it in.

Whirlpool and Bauknecht oven and cooktop repair

The most common problem with Whirlpool and Bauknecht ovens is upper or lower heating element burnout. The element gradually degrades through repeated heat cycles, resulting in the oven failing to reach the set temperature or heating unevenly. Our technicians replace the damaged element, verify the temperature sensor and thermostat operation, and run a full functional test. The most frequent Whirlpool oven error codes are F3 (temperature sensor failure), F5 (door lock issue) and F2 (overheat protection trip).

In induction cooktops the primary failure point is the IGBT power transistors that form the induction current generator. These components are sensitive to voltage surges and overheating. We diagnose each zone individually, replace failed IGBT transistors and check the resonance capacitors and control board. Touch panel failures are often linked to moisture ingress — we clean the contacts, replace membrane switches or the entire control module as needed.

Whirlpool microwave magnetron and control board repair

The key active component of a microwave oven is the magnetron — a high-frequency generator producing 2.45 GHz microwaves to heat food. Magnetron failure is the most common reason a microwave stops heating while the interior light and turntable continue to work. We check the magnetron resistance, high-voltage diode and capacitor, and replace the magnetron when necessary. It is important to note that high-voltage circuit repair is dangerous and must only be performed by a qualified technician — never attempt it at home.

Whirlpool control board faults manifest as unresponsive buttons, an incorrect timer display or a total refusal to execute commands. Our engineers diagnose the board at component level — checking relays, triacs, the microcontroller and power supply. Often the fault is a worn relay or triac whose replacement restores full operation. All repairs carry a 3-month warranty and we always inform the customer about the viability of the repair before starting work.
