Siemens household appliance repair in Riga — SATER

SATER service centre performs component-level repair of Siemens household appliances — iQ700, iQ500 and iQ300 built-in ovens, flexInduction cooktops, built-in microwaves, EQ-series fully automatic coffee machines, and range hoods. We have been working at Silmaču iela 6 in Riga since 1993 — over 30 years at the same location, tracing our roots to the workshops of the former Soviet-era "Elektrons" factory (workshop no. 2). Over these decades, thousands of Siemens and BSH-group appliances have passed through our hands, and we know the weak points of every product line. Diagnostics are performed on-site, and repair costs are agreed with the customer before any work begins. If you decide not to proceed, we return your appliance with no obligations. All completed work carries a 3-month warranty. We have no online order form and do not offer postal shipping — appliances must be brought to our service centre in person. We repair induction hob power electronics (IGBT transistors, drivers, capacitors), oven and cooktop control boards, EQ coffee machine brew groups and hydraulic systems, and hood fans and motors. Every repair is component-level work, not whole-module replacement at authorised service prices.

Common problems we fix

  • flexInduction zone does not recognise cookware — zone blinks and shuts off, pan detection sensor fails to lock on
  • Pyrolytic oven cleaning cycle does not complete — door lock jammed in closed position
  • EQ coffee machine grinder jammed or grinding too fine — ceramic burrs worn out
  • Oven fan noisy — convection motor bearing worn
  • Cooktop touch slider control erratic — ribbon cable oxidised or touch controller leakage
  • Microwave turntable motor burned out — plate does not rotate
  • EQ coffee machine brew unit leaking inside the housing — seals and guide rails worn
  • Oven/cooktop display shows segments partially — display board failure
  • Oven door glass shattered during pyrolysis — inner glass overheated

Detailed problem guides

Pick a symptom — we walk through the causes, what you can check yourself, and when to bring it in.

Siemens oven and cooktop electronics: flexInduction, pyrolysis, iQ control boards

Siemens ovens and cooktops are built on the BSH group's shared platform — the same one used by Bosch. This means the iQ700 oven Siemens HB676 control board is structurally identical to its Bosch Serie 8 counterpart, and our repair experience with one brand applies directly to the other. The main problem with iQ-series ovens is electronic door lock failure during pyrolytic cleaning. During pyrolysis, the chamber temperature reaches 480 °C, the lock secures the door, and if the motorised actuator or temperature sensor fails at that point, the door remains locked after the cycle completes. We replace the lock actuator, check the thermocouple, and test the control board that interprets the sensor signal.

Siemens flexInduction cooktops are among the most technically complex cooking surfaces on the market. Beneath the glass ceramic sit multiple induction coils grouped into zones that "pan" across the cookware and adjust power to match its size and position. The power stage is built around IGBT transistors — the same components used in industrial inverters. A typical failure pattern: the zone clicks its relay but does not heat — a sign of a blown IGBT or an open resonant capacitor. We desolder the faulty components, replace them with original-spec parts, and verify each zone with a controlled test load. Touch slider controls also fail frequently — the ribbon cable between the glass and the controller oxidises, or the touch controller itself produces phantom inputs. All of this is repaired at component level in our service centre at Silmaču iela 6.

Siemens EQ coffee machine: brew group, grinder, and hydraulic system repair

The Siemens EQ coffee machine line (EQ.9, EQ.6, EQ.500, EQ.300) comprises fully automatic espresso machines built on the BSH platform shared with Bosch VeroCup and Vero. The main assemblies that fail are the brew unit (brew group), the ceramic grinder, and the hydraulic system (pump, valves, tubing). The EQ brew unit is a removable mechanism that compresses ground coffee, brews it under pressure, and ejects the spent puck. After 3,000–5,000 cycles the O-ring seals, plastic guide rails and piston wear out — the unit starts leaking internally, coffee becomes watery, and the machine displays an error. We disassemble the brew unit, replace all seals, and re-lubricate the mechanism with food-grade silicone grease.

The Siemens EQ ceramic grinder uses a flat-burr design. Over time the burrs lose their edge, grind consistency deteriorates, and the machine can jam if a foreign object enters (a stone among the beans, excessively oily beans). We remove the grinder, clean the burrs, and replace them if necessary. The hydraulic system consists of an ULKA pump (15 bar), solenoid valves, and silicone tubing. After 4–6 years of use the pump loses pressure, valves scale up with calcium deposits, and tubing cracks. We perform a full hydraulic system overhaul, replace worn components, and run a descaling cycle. All work is carried out at our service centre at Silmaču iela 6, Riga. Every repair carries a 3-month warranty.
