3-month warranty

SATER service centre has been repairing Panasonic microwave ovens in Riga since 1993 — over 30 years of hands-on experience at the same address: Silmaču iela 6, LV-1012. Panasonic is the pioneer of inverter technology in microwaves: the company patented its Inverter system back in the 1990s, and today virtually every Panasonic model is built around it. The inverter smoothly adjusts magnetron power from 100 to 1 000 W, delivering even heating without relay pauses or clicks. Panasonic also produces unique steam-equipped models (Steam series) and Flatbed units — no turntable, just a flat cavity floor with a rotating antenna beneath it. This maximises usable cavity space but introduces specific repair tasks: the Flatbed antenna drive, the steam generator and its descaling system. Our service centre works at the component level — we diagnose and repair Panasonic inverter boards, replace 2M261-series magnetrons, restore Flatbed drives and steam generators. Before starting any work, the customer receives an honest cost estimate. If replacing the magnetron or board is not worthwhile, we say so directly. All work carries a 3-month warranty. Over 186 Google reviews with a 4.3-star average confirm our quality. Bring your Panasonic to Silmaču iela 6 — we will sort it out.

Popular models we repair

  • Panasonic NN-ST48KS (inverter solo)
  • Panasonic NN-GD38HS (inverter grill)
  • Panasonic NN-CD87KS (convection)
  • Panasonic NN-DS596M (steam)
  • Panasonic NN-CS89LB
  • Panasonic NN-SD28HS

Common problems we fix

  • Inverter board IGBT transistor failure — microwave does not heat while light and turntable work
  • Magnetron (Panasonic 2M261 series) end-of-life — power output critically low or heating stopped
  • Door hinge pin broken — hinge cracked, door sags and will not close flush
  • Steam generator calcification (steam models) — no steam output or very weak steam
  • Inverter cooling fan dead — board overheats and triggers thermal shutdown
  • Flatbed drive motor stalled (no-turntable models) — antenna does not rotate, uneven heating
  • Display board segment failure — digits missing or flickering on the display
  • Door seal deteriorated — hot air escapes, reducing efficiency and posing a burn risk

Panasonic Inverter microwave technology repair

Panasonic was the first manufacturer to bring inverter technology to consumer microwave ovens — the company's patent dates to the mid-1990s. Instead of the traditional heavy high-voltage transformer, Panasonic replaced it entirely with a compact electronic board using IGBT transistors. This board generates a high-frequency voltage to drive the 2M261-series magnetron, enabling smooth power regulation from 100 to 1 000 W.

When the inverter fails, the typical picture is: the microwave turns on, the light works, the cooling fan spins, but food stays cold. The most common cause is a power IGBT transistor punch-through during a mains voltage spike. We diagnose the inverter board at the component level: checking the IGBT, gate driver, resonant capacitor, current-sensing transformer and filter electrolytic capacitors. We also separately check the inverter cooling fan — if it is clogged with dust or its motor has seized, the board overheats and fails again. We replace the transistor and associated components, clean or replace the cooling fan, and test the microwave under load. Panasonic 2M261-series magnetrons are among the most widely used in the world, and compatible replacements are always available. After every repair we verify chamber radiation levels and door interlock switch operation.

Panasonic steam microwave and flatbed system service

Panasonic produces unique models with a steam generator (NN-DS series) and the Flatbed system (flat cavity floor with no turntable). The steam generator consists of a water reservoir, a heating element and a steam delivery system into the cavity. Over time, limescale builds up on the heating element and in the delivery channels — especially in hard-water regions. Riga is exactly such a region. Symptoms of a calcified steam generator: weak or no steam output, an error code on the display, and longer cooking times. We disassemble the steam generator, remove the calcium deposits, check the heating element for continuity and insulation resistance, and replace it if necessary.

The Flatbed system uses a rotating antenna beneath the flat cavity floor instead of a turntable. The antenna is driven by a dedicated motor with a gearbox. When the motor seizes or the gears wear, the antenna stops rotating and microwaves distribute unevenly — food heats on one side and stays cold on the other. We replace the Flatbed drive motor or rebuild the gearbox, check the antenna mount and confirm free rotation. All work is carried out at our service centre on Silmaču iela 6 with a 3-month warranty.
