SATER service centre has been repairing Samsung microwave ovens in Riga since 1993 — over 30 years of hands-on experience at the same address: Silmaču iela 6, LV-1012. Samsung uses proprietary inverter technology in its microwaves, providing smooth magnetron power regulation — unlike conventional transformer models where power switches in steps. This makes inverter Samsung repair technically more demanding: we need to diagnose IGBT transistors, gate drivers and control ICs on the inverter board rather than simply checking a transformer and capacitor. Our service centre works at the component level — we re-solder failed components instead of replacing entire boards, which significantly reduces repair costs. We service all Samsung microwave lines: solo models in the MS series, grill models in the MG series, convection models in the MC series with HotBlast technology, built-in models in the NQ series, and Smart Oven units with Wi-Fi control via the SmartThings app. Before starting any work, the customer receives an honest cost estimate. If replacing the magnetron or inverter board is not economically justified, we say so directly. All completed work carries a 3-month warranty. Over 186 Google reviews with a 4.3-star average confirm the quality of our service. Bring your Samsung to Silmaču iela 6 — we will handle any fault.
Popular models we repair
- Samsung MC32B7382Q (convection)
- Samsung MS23T5018A (solo)
- Samsung MG23A7013C (grill)

Common problems we fix
- Magnetron failure — unit runs but does not heat food (most common fault)
- Turntable motor stalled — plate does not rotate, food heats unevenly
- Door latch switch misaligned — microwave will not start with the door closed
- Control panel touch buttons unresponsive or trigger erratically
- Inverter board failure — Samsung uses inverter technology, IGBT transistor or driver burned out
- Sparking inside the ceramic enamel interior — coating damage or mica plate burn-through
- Convection fan motor bearing noise — worn bearings cause humming or rattling
- Smart Oven Wi-Fi module dead — unit will not connect to SmartThings

Samsung inverter microwave magnetron and HV circuit repair
Samsung was one of the first manufacturers to bring inverter technology to consumer microwave ovens. Instead of the classic "high-voltage transformer — capacitor — diode — magnetron" topology, Samsung inverter models use an electronic board with IGBT transistors that generates a high-frequency voltage to drive the magnetron. This allows smooth power adjustment from 100 to 1 000 W without the relay clicks and pauses typical of transformer-based models.
Diagnosing Samsung inverters requires a component-level approach. We check power IGBT transistors, gate drivers, the control microcontroller, filter electrolytic capacitors and the magnetron current feedback loop. A common failure mode is IGBT punch-through during a mains voltage spike: the transistor shorts, and the microwave stops heating even though the light and turntable continue to operate. In such cases we replace the transistor and verify associated components — the driver and the current shunt — to prevent repeat failure. On the high-voltage side we check the magnetron, HV capacitor and diode. If the magnetron has lost emission (it runs but delivers less than 50 % of rated power), we replace it with a compatible equivalent. All high-voltage work is performed with mandatory capacitor discharge and a post-assembly chamber radiation check.
Samsung Smart Oven and convection system diagnostics
Samsung convection microwaves in the MC series and the Smart Oven line combine three heating modes: microwave, grill and convection. The convection fan forces hot air from a ring heating element into the cavity, achieving an even temperature up to 200 °C. Over time the fan bearings wear and begin to hum or rattle — the microwave still works, but convection performance drops and food bakes unevenly. We disassemble the rear cavity panel, extract the fan motor, replace the bearings or the entire motor, and test the ring heating element for continuity and insulation resistance.
The Smart Oven MC32K7085KT supports control via Wi-Fi and the Samsung SmartThings app. A frequent complaint is that the microwave stops connecting to the home network or loses the connection after a router firmware update. We diagnose the Wi-Fi module, check the antenna and the control board firmware. If the module has failed at the hardware level, we replace it. If the issue is software-related, we perform a reset and reconfiguration. The touch control panel on Samsung convection models uses a membrane keypad: over time the contacts beneath the buttons oxidise and individual zones stop responding. We replace the membrane keypad or restore the contact traces to bring the panel back to full functionality.
