DeWalt power tool repair
DeWalt repair: jammed DCH273 SDS-Plus chuck, faulty DCF887 trigger switch, 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT pack rebuilds with new lithium-ion cells.
Professional DeWalt tools — DCH series rotary hammers, DCD drill/drivers, DCF887 impact drivers, DCG405 angle grinders, DCS391 circular saws and D25 corded rotary hammers — wear out predictably under daily site use. The most common jobs we see are sagging 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT batteries, worn carbon brushes, jammed SDS-Plus chucks, gearbox grease leaks and dead electronic speed controllers. Brushless models (DCD796, DCF887) add controller overheating and electronic protection trips under load.
We repair DeWalt at the component level: diagnosing control boards, replacing brushes and bearings, rewinding stators, restoring impact mechanisms, repacking gearboxes and rebuilding battery packs by replacing degraded lithium-ion cells and verifying the BMS board. Before any work starts we agree on a written estimate; if a repair isn't economically viable we say so directly and return the tool with no obligation. All workmanship carries a 3-month warranty; battery rebuilds carry a 6-month warranty.
Popular models we repair

- DeWalt DCD796 cordless drill/driver (20V MAX Brushless)
- DeWalt DCG405 cordless angle grinder (20V MAX)
- DeWalt DCS391 cordless circular saw (20V MAX)
- DeWalt DW331K corded jigsaw with variable speed
- DeWalt DCF887 cordless impact driver (20V MAX)
- DeWalt D25133K SDS Plus rotary hammer (corded)
- DeWalt DWE4233 corded angle grinder 125 mm
Common problems we fix
- 20V MAX / FLEXVOLT battery cell degradation — tool loses power or won't hold a charge for more than a few minutes
- Carbon brush wear in corded tools — motor sparks, loses RPM or fails to start
- SDS-Plus impact mechanism failure — hammer drill rotates but won't hammer or hammers intermittently
- Gear case oil leak — lubricant seeps through gearbox housing seals
- Electronic speed controller failure — tool runs at full speed only or speed is not adjustable
- Trigger switch intermittent — tool switches on and off erratically when the trigger is pressed
- SDS-Plus chuck jammed — bit stuck and won't release, locking mechanism damaged
- Brushless motor overheating — electronic protection trips and tool shuts down under load
DeWalt 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT battery rebuild
The DeWalt 20V MAX cordless platform is one of the most common professional power tool systems on the Latvian market. Over time the lithium-ion cells degrade: capacity drops, the tool loses power under load and stops holding a charge for more than a few minutes. Original DeWalt batteries are expensive, and third-party alternatives often fall short of advertised specifications and may be unsafe.
We perform professional rebuilds of DeWalt 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT battery packs: we open the housing, diagnose each cell individually, and replace degraded cells with new quality lithium-ion cells that have verified capacity and internal resistance ratings. We check and, if necessary, replace the BMS (Battery Management System) board responsible for cell balancing, overcharge protection and deep discharge prevention. After assembly the battery undergoes a full charge-discharge cycle with actual capacity measurement. Battery rebuilds carry a 6-month warranty — twice the standard repair warranty.
DeWalt rotary hammer and impact driver repair
DeWalt DCH series (cordless) and D25 series (corded) rotary hammers are workhorses on construction sites across Latvia. The main faults customers bring to us include: impact mechanism wear (striker, piston, O-rings — the hammer drill stops hammering or hammers intermittently), SDS-Plus chuck jamming (bit stuck and won't release), gearbox lubricant leaking through worn seals, and carbon brush wear in corded models. We fully disassemble the impact mechanism, replace worn components, replenish gearbox grease and reassemble the tool with bench testing.
DeWalt DCF887 impact drivers and similar models suffer from characteristic problems: impact mechanism wear (hammer and anvil), electronic speed controller failure (tool no longer changes speed smoothly), and brushless motor overheating during extended use under load — the electronic protection trips and the tool shuts down. We diagnose the root cause, restore or replace the damaged assemblies, and test the tool under real load. All work carries a 3-month warranty.
