SATER service centre has been repairing Electrolux and AEG induction and ceramic hobs in Riga since 1993 — over 30 years of hands-on experience at the same address: Silmaču iela 6, LV-1012. Electrolux and AEG belong to the same Electrolux Group, and many models from both brands are built on a shared platform, which simplifies parts sourcing. We work at the component level: replacing power IGBT transistors, repairing control boards with Bridge and MaxiSense functions, diagnosing Hob²Hood communication between the hob and the range hood, restoring SenseBoil and OptiHeat sensors, and replacing ceramic glass surfaces. We service models Electrolux EIV9467, LIR60430, EHI6540FOS, EHH3920BVK, as well as AEG IKE84471FB, HK634203XB, IAE84881FB and others. Our history traces back to workshop No. 2 of the Soviet-era "Elektrons" factory. Before starting any work, the customer receives an honest cost estimate — if the repair is not economically viable, we say so directly and return the appliance with no obligation. All work carries a 3-month warranty. Over 186 Google reviews with a 4.3-star average confirm the quality of our service. Bring your Electrolux or AEG hob to Silmaču iela 6 — we will sort it out.
Popular models we repair
- Electrolux EIV9467 (Bridge function)
- AEG IKE84471FB (MaxiSense)
- AEG HK634203XB (ceramic)
- Electrolux LIR60430
- Electrolux EHI6540FOS
- AEG IAE84881FB (SensePro)
- Electrolux EHH3920BVK (portable induction)
Common problems we fix
- Bridge zone function not linking — two zones work independently, linking will not activate
- MaxiSense pan position sensor drift — heating shifts away from the cookware centre
- IGBT failure — hob clicks repeatedly but the zone does not heat
- Ceramic glass thermal crack — crack running across the surface
- AEG Hob²Hood communication failure — hob no longer controls the range hood automatically
- Power limiter cutting output when multiple zones run simultaneously
- OptiHeat residual heat sensor malfunction — false or missing hot-surface warning
- Electrolux SenseBoil overflow detection false trigger — power drops when water is not boiling

Electrolux/AEG induction IGBT and bridge zone repair
Electrolux and AEG induction hobs with the Bridge function allow two adjacent round zones to be linked into a single elongated heating area — ideal for fish kettles, roasting pans and oversized cookware. Technically, Bridge is implemented through the synchronised operation of two IGBT modules and two induction coils governed by a shared controller. When one IGBT transistor fails, the Bridge function stops working, although the individual zones may continue to heat independently.
We diagnose each IGBT transistor with an oscilloscope, check gate drivers, current shunts, and resonance capacitors. On AEG MaxiSense hobs we additionally test the pan-position sensor matrix — if the sensors return inaccurate coordinates, heating shifts away from the centre of the pan base, leading to uneven heating and spurious error codes. Replacing a specific IGBT module or restoring its surrounding circuitry on the board costs a fraction of swapping the entire power unit. We also check the power limiter (power management) — on hobs with 4–5 zones the electronics cap total current draw, and a faulty current sensor can trigger the limiter prematurely, cutting power to individual zones. All work carries a 3-month warranty.
AEG Hob²Hood and SensePro smart feature diagnostics
AEG Hob²Hood is a technology that lets the hob control the range hood automatically: the hob monitors heating intensity and sends commands to a compatible AEG or Electrolux hood via an infrared channel. The hood turns on when cooking begins, adjusts fan speed based on the number of active zones and their power level, and switches off a few minutes after cooking ends. Typical faults: the IR transmitter on the hob stops working (LED or driver failure), grease deposits block the transmitter's optical window, or the communication protocol is corrupted after a power surge.
AEG SensePro (model IAE84881FB and equivalents) is a hob with an integrated temperature sensor that measures the pan-base temperature and holds the set level to within 1 °C — effectively enabling "sous-vide" style cooking directly in a pan on the induction surface. SensePro faults include: failure of the temperature sensor (pyrometer) itself, reading drift after years of use, or loss of communication between the sensor and the control board. Electrolux SenseBoil is a simpler variant: a sensor detects the moment water reaches a boil and automatically reduces power. False SenseBoil triggers are a frequent complaint — the hob drops power before the water is actually boiling. The cause is usually sensor contamination or misalignment. We calibrate, clean, or replace SensePro and SenseBoil sensors, restore the Hob²Hood channel, and test all smart functions after repair. All work carries a 3-month warranty.
