SATER service centre has been repairing Siemens induction and ceramic hobs in Riga since 1993 — over 30 years of hands-on experience at the same address: Silmaču iela 6, LV-1012. Siemens iQ700, iQ500 and iQ300 hobs featuring flexInduction Plus, touchSlider and powerBoost technologies are technically sophisticated appliances that require component-level electronics repair. We work at exactly that level: diagnosing and replacing power IGBT modules, repairing control boards with the touchSlider interface, restoring pan-detection sensors, replacing ceramic glass surfaces, and servicing cooling fans and extractor motors on venting hob models. Siemens and Bosch are both part of the BSH group, so many components are interchangeable, which simplifies parts sourcing. We service models EX675LYC1E, EX875LX34E, EH631BEB1E, ET631BK11E, EX875LYC1E, ED851FSB1E, EX877LX33E and others. Before starting any work, the customer receives an honest cost estimate. All completed work carries a 3-month warranty. Over 186 Google reviews with a 4.3-star average confirm the quality of our service. Bring your Siemens hob to Silmaču iela 6.

Popular models we repair

  • Siemens EX675LYC1E (flexInduction Plus)
  • Siemens EX875LX34E
  • Siemens EH631BEB1E
  • Siemens ET631BK11E (ceramic)
  • Siemens EX875LYC1E (iQ700)
  • Siemens ED851FSB1E (80 cm)
  • Siemens EX877LX33E (venting hob)

Common problems we fix

  • flexInduction zone does not recognise pan position — heating does not follow the cookware footprint
  • Touch slider erratic — ghost touches, power level changes on its own
  • IGBT module overheating — one zone completely dead
  • Ceramic glass hairline crack — only visible when the zone is heated
  • Boost function will not engage — zone heats but maximum power is unavailable
  • Residual heat indicator LED (H) failure — no warning that the surface is still hot
  • Zone intermittently drops power to minimum for no apparent reason
  • Venting hob extractor motor failure — induction works but the downdraft does not pull air

Detailed problem guides

Pick a symptom — we walk through the causes, what you can check yourself, and when to bring it in.

Siemens flexInduction Plus and iQ700 electronics repair

Siemens iQ700 hobs with flexInduction Plus technology sit at the top of the BSH lineup. Their defining feature is fully flexible cookware placement: a matrix of many small induction coils detects the position and size of the pan base, heating only the area directly beneath the cookware. This system is driven by multiple IGBT modules and a control processor whose firmware coordinates dozens of coils simultaneously.

The most common failure is one or more IGBT transistors blowing, which causes part of the flexInduction zone to stop heating. The second most frequent issue is touchSlider malfunction: the capacitive linear slider used for power adjustment begins to "jump" or respond to touches at random points. Causes include condensation ingress, ribbon-cable oxidation, or degradation of electrode sensitivity. The third category is overheating due to cooling fan failure, which triggers a protective shutdown.

We diagnose each IGBT module individually, check gate drivers and resonance circuits, bench-test the touchSlider, and inspect fans and thermal sensors. All repairs are performed at the component level, preserving the original board and avoiding the cost of a full module swap. Every repair carries a 3-month warranty.

Siemens venting hob: induction + extractor combined unit service

The Siemens EX877 venting hob series is an innovative two-in-one format: a full-size induction hob with a built-in downdraft extractor in the centre. The extractor pulls air downward, eliminating the need for an overhead range hood. Structurally it is a more complex appliance: in addition to standard induction electronics (IGBT transistors, coils, control board), there is an extractor motor, its PWM speed-control board, grease and carbon filters, and an air exhaust channel.

Typical extractor-side faults include: motor will not start or runs at a single speed (PWM board failure), excessive noise from worn bearings, and insufficient airflow due to a clogged filter or a warped flap valve. The induction section fails for the same reasons as conventional hobs — IGBT transistors, sensors, capacitors. However, venting hob repair is complicated by the compact layout: the extractor module occupies the central section, and accessing some induction coils requires removing the extractor assembly first.

We have hands-on experience with both venting hob subsystems: we repair the induction electronics, replace bearings or the extractor motor entirely, restore the PWM board, and verify air-channel sealing. All work carries a 3-month warranty.
