Viomi and Lydsto robot vacuums rely on an LDS (Laser Distance Sensor) navigation system in which a spinning laser scans the room and builds a precise floor plan. This technology ensures an efficient cleaning route, but the LDS module is the most mechanically stressed component in the robot — the internal motor spins at over a thousand revolutions per minute, and after a year or two of heavy use the bearings begin to wear. The first sign is increasing noise: the LDS turret starts whining or clicking. If the problem is ignored, the motor can stop completely and the robot loses its ability to navigate, moving erratically or reporting a navigation error in the app.

At our service centre we disassemble the entire mopping module, clear the water channels of mineral deposits and diagnose the pump motor. If the motor has reached the end of its service life we replace it with a new compatible unit. We also check the water level sensor and the control board that regulates fluid delivery based on the selected cleaning mode. For Lydsto W2 models we additionally diagnose the self-cleaning station pump responsible for automatic pad rinsing.
